Activity Programme

‘Our Holiday Workshops – Waste Watchers’

On Wednesday 7th August the first of our four summer workshops for children from 4 to 11 years old took place. 25 children came along to join in the fun and take part in the activities. Our theme was David and Goliath so we heard the story of a small shepherd boy who, with God’s help, became very brave and defeated a giant with a single stone.

Our activities included painting shields making scratch art swords and playing some games, such as the ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse Game’ .

Everyone had a good time and the comments of parents included:

‘My daughter came today and had a lovely time – can I book her in for another session?’

‘Hi, could I book my daughter in again for the 14th  as it’s been lovely today’

The answer to both the above questions is, of course, ‘Yes!’

So why don’t you book in too for one of our forthcoming workshops? Further sessions are on Wednesdays 14th, 21st and 28th August, 2.00pm to 4.00 pm at the Venerable Bede and cost just £2.00 per session. To reserve a place just contact Sarah on 07702376169 / email sarah@stbenedictbiscop.org.uk

The following children’s activities are taking place.

Little Fish is held every week during term time in St Benedict’s Church. The group is for babies and toddlers along with their carers. We have great fun playing with toys, craft activities, singing and listening to a Bible story.
Attending Little Fish is a great way of introducing young children to the church family.

Sunday Club
is held every week in the Wombourne Institute (next to St Benedict’s church) we meet at 10.15. This is aimed at Primary school age children (younger children are welcome to attend with an adult). We have great fun playing games, doing crafts, learning about the Bible and joining in with the end of the church service.
